30: authority

modern man suffers a similar fate: his inner kingdom has no ruler.
and without an inner ruler, without principles or a vision to guide him, he is enslaved by his base impulses. he lives in an endless cycle of restlessness, compulsion, satisfaction, repetition, and despair. samsara.
the world has taught us to despise authority, to rebel against Patriarchy and The System, but in the wake of that rebellion we are left with chaos--politically and psychologically. but the antidote to fascism isn't anarchy. if the goal is freedom rather than destruction, we must learn to embrace authority. to love it. and to own it in ourselves.
