22: dharma

your dharma is the work that your soul calls you to do. it's not just the work you have to do, or a responsibility or duty... while those are true it comes from a much deeper place than should or must. it comes from the same forces of nature that create generational trauma and generational talent and the butterfly effect. dharma is woven into the fabric of reality, in the very cause-and-effect that brought you into this world and gave you the gifts and curses you carry around every day.

when people talk about callings they say you need to find the magical intersection of your mission, skills, passion, etc... but the idea that you just "find" your life's work is misleading. your dharma is constantly in a state of being created by your actions and inclinations. every decision you make or don't, every new path you follow, every skill you learn and person you meet shapes you. it shapes what you're meant to do. and what you're meant to do... is what you ARE doing. right now. you want to believe the grass is greener on the other side, but there is no other side. there is just this.
