28: doing less
for years i thought the secret to success was "just do more."
doing more is HARD, i thought. just be a savage. just grit your teeth and david goggins your way to success.
but doing more isn't actually hard... any half-brained idiot can wake up at 5am and send more cold emails, post more content, vibecode another shitty product.
these days it is MUCH HARDER to do less. to do nothing, and see what genius ideas spring out from the Void. from divine inspiration. that's a mark of strength.
here's a thought experiment if you don't believe me:
would you rather...
- sit down and do nothing for one hour every day, or
- slam a coffee and send 100 outreach messages?
most people would rather crawl through mud and broken glass than sit in silence.
but very often it is in that solitude that we find our best ideas - and our greatest purpose in life.
